Description

The Global Diagnostics Partnering Lead sources, evaluates, and negotiates global diagnostics partnering opportunities. The role builds and leads deal and diligence teams, contributes to proactive opportunity generation, co-creates partnering wants and target product profiles, and maintains internal and external networks to sustain a pipeline. You will also perform systematic screening of technologies, products, digital solutions, and companies in close collaboration with technology chapter and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Source opportunities; build and lead deal and diligence teams; evaluate options and negotiate agreements

  • Generate and secure a continuous pipeline of partnership options through internal and external networking

  • Perform strategic opportunity generation as part of squad teams to support Diagnostics strategy (by areas/segments)

  • Co-create strategic partnering wants and target product profiles (TPP) with internal stakeholders

  • Conduct systematic screens for suitable technologies, products, digital solutions, and companies

Requirements

  • 5–7+ years of experience in business/corporate development, strategy consulting, venture capital, investment banking, or related field

  • Demonstrated track record leading negotiations of complex business partnerships and transactions (M&A, licensing, R&D, commercial collaboration)

  • Advanced degree in science/engineering/business/legal or related field (ideally PhD or MBA)

  • Solid understanding of the Diagnostics industry, including lifecycle processes and global business development trends

  • Experience with accounting/finance; ability to create business cases and financial models for complex transactions

  • Demonstrated senior leadership communication and ability to present proposals for management approval

  • Planning/organizational skills managing multiple cross-functional teams and projects

  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical/conceptual problem-solving, and exceptional written/oral communication

  • Growth mindset with coaching/mentoring, objectivity, fairness, and consensus-building

  • Willingness to work onsite in Pleasanton, California
