Description

Join a small team rebuilding an early proof-of-concept into a production-ready analytical web application. You will design and deliver end-to-end features across a Python/FastAPI backend and React frontend, while processing and validating structured data and deploying services to the cloud. You’ll also use AI-assisted (agentic) development tools with strong engineering judgment.

Role and Responsibilities

• Build end-to-end product features: design, implement, test, and deploy across backend and frontend

• Shape architecture for maintainable, production-grade boundaries and engineering practices

• Process, transform, validate, and analyze structured data from CSV, JSON, Excel, and databases

• Develop robust APIs and data models using Python, FastAPI, and PostgreSQL

• Build responsive user experiences in React and collaborate on presentation of analytical results

• Own deployment: containerize with Docker/Docker Compose and support CI/CD into cloud

• Improve engineering quality through pull requests, automated testing, CI/CD, security scanning, and code reviews

• Use AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) effectively

• Collaborate in an agile team with planning, reviews, and reprioritization

• Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Requirements

• Strong professional experience in Python and building web applications or APIs with FastAPI (or similar)

• Professional React experience and modern frontend development

• Strength in backend, frontend, or full-stack, with willingness to work across the stack

• Strong knowledge of relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL (schema design, querying, data modeling)

• Practical Docker and Docker Compose experience

• Strong cloud architecture and deployment knowledge (AWS preferred)

• Modern workflows: Git, pull requests, CI/CD, build artifacts, Docker images, automated testing, security/secret scanning

• Strong data-handling skills using tools such as pandas, Polars, SQL, Jupyter, or equivalents

• Experience using modern AI-assisted/agentic development tools productively

• Pragmatic mindset and ability to work as requirements evolve

• Excellent communication skills and English fluency

• EU residency and permission to work in the EU
