• Role: Data Architect / Cloud Data Platform technical lead

Description

You will be responsible for designing and evolving a modern, cloud-based data platform on Microsoft Azure as part of a strategic transformation program. You will set the architecture direction, define standards and best practices, and support engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure data products for analytics, reporting, and AI solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead data architecture and act as a technical leader for the Cloud Data Platform

• Design, develop, and continuously improve the platform architecture for business and technical needs

• Create and maintain architectural and implementation standards and best practices

• Decide on technology selection and the platform roadmap

• Coordinate technical teams and support data engineers and developers in solving complex issues

• Run architecture reviews and code reviews to improve solution quality

• Oversee design and development of data layers aligned with the Medallion architecture (Silver/Gold)

• Ensure high data quality, consistency, security, and availability across the environment

• Design and develop data products used by analytics, reporting teams, and AI solutions

• Collaborate closely with enterprise architects, analysts, Product Owners, and other project teams

• Participate in planning, estimations, and resolving technical questions for ongoing initiatives

Requirements

• 7+ years of IT experience, including 3+ years in a Data Architect or comparable lead role

• Experience building data platforms for large enterprise environments

• Strong knowledge of data architecture, data modeling, and integration design

• Experience with Medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold)

• Practical experience with Azure data platforms: Data Factory, Databricks, Data Lake, Event Hub (or similar)

• Very good knowledge of SQL and technologies for processing large datasets

• Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, and deployment automation

• Knowledge of Data Governance, Data Quality, and data security topics

• Ability to make independent technical decisions and take responsibility for solutions
