Description

Lead specific workstreams within merchandising strategy and transformation engagements, driving high-quality analytical insights and tangible client value. Conduct in-depth analysis and facilitate workshops covering assortment, space and floor planning, pricing, inventory management, and planning processes to identify improvement opportunities and growth levers. Act as a trusted advisor to senior retail stakeholders, support proposals, and mentor junior team members.

Responsibilities

  • Lead workstreams for merchandising strategy and transformation, ensuring consistent delivery quality

  • Analyze current assortment, space/floor planning, pricing, inventory management, and planning processes

  • Facilitate workshops to assess needs and define improvement opportunities

  • Shape and implement change programs within assigned workstreams

  • Support engagement leads with workstream delivery consistency and quality

  • Maintain client relationships with Director/Senior Manager-level stakeholders

  • Contribute insights to proposals and develop new consulting propositions

  • Serve as trusted advisor on topics such as assortment optimization, AI-driven planning, pricing strategy, data analytics, and digital merchandising

  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to team development and coaching

  • Support creation of consulting content (e.g., Points of View)

  • Ensure project delivery standards, including risk management and quality assurance for deliverables

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of retail experience with significant discretionary merchandising strategy/operations/transformation exposure

  • Strong discretionary retail merchandising expertise (apparel, home, beauty, electronics, or general merchandise)

  • Ability to lead workstreams and deliver analytical insights tied to measurable results

  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills; proven workshop support ability

  • Experience redesigning and innovating merchandising business processes; exposure to change management

  • Ability to mentor junior staff and support team development

  • Willingness to travel as required

  • Bachelor’s degree in business/merchandising/related field; MBA or equivalent desirable
