Description

You will lead electronics system engineering activities, driving system architecture and engineering standards for new product development. You’ll develop and maintain technical standards and procedures, conduct design reviews focused on system safety and quality, and support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex electronic issues. You will mentor engineering teams and collaborate across mechanical, hardware, and software teams to ensure seamless integration of electronic systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and maintain technical standards and procedures for accuracy and compliance

• Set and drive system architecture definition and engineering standards for new product development

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in design processes and methodologies

• Manage tasks to project schedules and scope; identify and mitigate scope creep

• Collaborate with mechanical, hardware, and software teams to ensure electronics integration

• Evaluate schematics and layout design; identify single-fault failures and critical design risks

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers developing electronic hardware

• Conduct design reviews of technical documentation and electrical designs for safety, quality, and best practices

• Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex electronic issues across products and platforms

• Participate in safety reviews, perform system fault hazard analysis, and assess component integration compatibility and functionality

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field (minimum)

• 12+ years of electronics design experience in a relevant industry

• 5+ years of experience managing, coaching, and developing individuals within a similar discipline

• Highly developed knowledge of electronics and electrical systems

• Broad experience with analog and digital circuit design, embedded systems, and PCB layout

• Understanding of electronics manufacturing and high-volume production design

• Fault-tolerant design experience

• Embedded systems experience (battery management systems, chargers, motor control systems desired)

• Knowledge desired in switch-mode power supplies, electric motor controls, lithium-ion battery management, and AC/DC or brushless motors

• Strong problem-solving and leadership, communication, and presentation skills

• Ability to travel globally as needed
