Description

Support PHNSY CNO/FMB Virginia Class availabilities as the Planning Yard On-Site Representative. Provide engineering reviews, material acquisition assistance, and planning/logistics support for Virginia-class design products and maintenance changes. Coordinate training, resolve technical issues, review LARs, and support material and test-equipment needs while maintaining situational awareness through shipyard meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Shipyard, Squadron, SHAPEC and AIT personnel with Virginia-class design products (drawings, ERs, DFSs, LARs, ShipAlts)

  • Provide technical assistance to resolve issues understanding design product contents

  • Provide documents (up to and including U-NNPI) when access to ATIS or CITIS is unavailable

  • Facilitate training on Virginia-class systems, components, and Block (flight) changes

  • Maintain situational awareness by attending daily project and repair office meetings

  • Reach back for system and component engineering SMEs; support via teleconference or onsite as needed

  • Expedite and review LARs in-process with the shipyard to ensure comprehensive content and prevent unnecessary releases

  • Support material requests and supply via EB Industrial Sales, OMNIBUS, or CANAB; inventory EB-provided shipalt material kits

  • Assist in obtaining test material/equipment/fixtures from EB in Groton

  • Perform ship checks to support shipalt development and class design changes

  • Accept/acknowledge completion reports from ships, Squadron and AITs and report to the Virginia-class Configuration Data Manager (CDM) as necessary

  • Facilitate collection of SRD markups on VACL hulls that have received Shipalts or A&I and communicate changes to the planning yard

  • Support EB personnel visit planning (passes and visit requests)

  • Perform other tasks as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Engineering or Science

  • 0–7 years of engineering experience post-graduation

  • Flexibility of schedule; willingness to work occasional odd hours

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance through the DoD

  • Relocation to Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard in Honolulu, Hawaii
