Description

Lead a section of 8–15 systems engineers while balancing 85% technical SOW work and 15% functional homeroom manager (FHR) SOW. Manage hiring, development, performance, and day-to-day operations, including resource balancing and resolution of critical/urgent technical issues. You’ll foster an inclusive, continuous-improvement culture focused on engagement, affordability, innovation, and value growth.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of 8–15 systems engineers

  • Own hiring, training, development, and retention of section talent (including university and experienced hiring)

  • Provide leadership and direct employee performance, including engagement strategies and corrective actions

  • Manage daily operations: employee movement, balancing resources across programs, and handling critical/urgent issues

  • Promote professional development and collaboration across the Systems Engineering team

  • Provide clear assignments, connect work to the bigger picture, and build a motivating, inclusive environment

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 9 years combined technical and management experience, or Master’s degree with 7 years combined technical and management experience

  • Experience in at least one of the following: Requirements and Verification, Operations Analysis, Modeling and Simulation, Systems Analysis, System Architecture, Mission Integration or Model Based Systems Engineering, IFC, Specialty Engineering, or other applicable SE competency

  • Experience leading an engineering team or project

  • Currently briefed to and supporting applicable program statement of work

  • Active USG Top Secret clearance with background investigation within the past 5 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation

  • Ability to obtain and maintain initial Special Program Access (SAP/PAR), obtained prior to employment or within a reasonable company-defined time
