Description

Serve as the primary technical point of contact for Micron’s Data Center SSD roadmap and product direction to hyperscale and OEM customer engineering leaders. Own end-to-end technical requirements and strategy for SSD product lines by translating customer needs, industry standards, and emerging technologies into product requirements (MRDs), engineering decisions, and customer transition plans. Drive external representation in standards forums and lead technical tradeoffs across NAND, controller/ASIC, firmware, and system-level interfaces.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and translate customer requirements from specs, RFIs/RFQs, platform constraints, and qualification needs into clear MRDs and engineering decisions

  • Keep EVT/DVT/PVT timelines on track through escalation paths and transition planning

  • Represent the company in PCIe-SIG, OCP, and JEDEC forums to help shape relevant specifications

  • Lead technical strategy from concept through qualification and volume ramp, balancing performance, cost, schedule, and customer commitments

  • Align ASIC, firmware, and systems engineering teams around customer/market priorities and resolve conflicting priorities

  • Partner with sales and leadership teams to shape account strategy, forecasts, positioning, commitments, supply plans, and qualification milestones

  • Brief executives on program status, risks, and recommendations

  • Drive invention disclosures, new architecture approaches, process/tooling improvements, and mentor product and technical program managers

  • Use AI to improve work efficiency and effectiveness

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in product management, systems/product engineering, or technical program management within SSD, storage, or semiconductor industries

  • Strong technical foundation in NAND flash, SSD controller/ASIC architecture, PCIe/NVMe protocols, and firmware/system-level interactions

  • Direct experience with hyperscale/enterprise customers on technical requirements, qualification, and platform integration

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence outcomes without direct authority

  • Strong written and verbal communication; able to adjust technical depth for different audiences

  • Bachelor’s degree in EE/CE/CS or related field; advanced degree preferred
