Description

You will design and develop backend and frontend applications for a German client, translating technical requirements into effort estimates and supporting PoCs and prototypes. You’ll create technical designs with architects, ensure high-quality, maintainable, scalable code via peer reviews and coding standards, and mentor other developers. The role also includes staying up to date with emerging technologies and supporting the full software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop backend and frontend applications for a German client

  • Evaluate client requirements technically and provide effort estimations

  • Support design and development of proof of concepts (PoCs) and prototypes

  • Create technical designs with architects and other consultants

  • Ensure code quality through peer reviews, technical discussions, and coding standards/style guides

  • Motivate and support team members delivering stable, maintainable solutions

  • Mentor and coach internal and external developers; create solution-specific templates and guidelines

  • Support the entire software development lifecycle

  • Identify innovations and emerging technologies that add value

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, natural sciences, or related field

  • ~10 years of full-stack software development using Java and the Spring ecosystem

  • Experience with RDBMS and NoSQL databases

  • Strong JavaScript and REST API experience on frontend (Angular) and backend (Node.js)

  • Understanding of DevOps principles with hands-on Docker and Kubernetes experience

  • Experience with GitLab, Jenkins, SonarQube, and Nexus

  • Microservices architecture experience; OOD/OOA; cloud design patterns

  • Willingness to contribute to frontend when your expertise is needed

  • Structured, methodical working style with agile experience (Scrum, Kanban) and TDD/BDD practices

  • Strong ownership and high quality standards

  • German fluency (minimum C1) and English proficiency (minimum B2)
