Description

Help build and evolve backend services that connect to Braiins Pool, Hashpower, and related hashpower spot market products. You will work primarily on Rust/Tokio microservices while understanding how backend changes—configuration, pricing/allocation logic, data flows, latency, and reliability—can influence market behavior. Depending on your strengths, you may also touch TypeScript/React frontend code, Python tooling/legacy services, internal automation, and AI-assisted development processes.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, maintain, and improve backend services for market-oriented products.
• Reason about how service behavior and changes affect users and market dynamics.
• Work with Rust/Tokio microservices, gRPC/Protocol Buffers, Kafka, PostgreSQL/SQLx, Consul, Vault, Docker, Kubernetes, and GitLab CI/CD.
• Contribute to API design, service communication, data flows, database changes, testing, observability, and production readiness.
• Collaborate with product, analytics, frontend, QA, support, SRE, and platform teams.
• Validate assumptions using data, logs, metrics, and statistical reasoning.
• Improve internal Rust libraries, service patterns, and development workflows.
• Maintain or modernize Python-based tools and legacy services when needed.
• Participate in code reviews, technical decisions, refactoring, and documentation.
• Use AI tools responsibly with human ownership and production-quality safeguards.

Requirements

• Mid+/Senior backend experience in distributed systems and service-oriented/data-intensive work.
• Strong engineering judgment beyond code, including understanding operational risk and long-term maintainability.
• Production experience with APIs, databases, asynchronous/event-driven systems, and message queues.
• Ability to reason with data and metrics; ideally practical mathematical statistics experience (probability/experiments/simulation/forecasting).
• Strong backend/systems experience and clear motivation to work primarily in Rust.
• Understanding of testing, code review, observability, performance, reliability, and maintainable architecture.
• Ability to work across requirements, design, implementation, CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, support, and post-release evaluation.
• Ownership mindset and willingness to collaborate.
• Willingness to understand Bitcoin mining, pool operations, and hashpower products.
