• Role: Backend Developer (IT Department)

Description

You will maintain and develop existing educational and training systems, working with long-standing legacy code (sometimes with limited documentation). The role focuses on analyzing existing code, diagnosing and fixing problems, adding new business-driven functionality, and ensuring high code quality with correct technical documentation. You may occasionally participate in projects using newer technologies such as microservices, APIs, and RabbitMQ.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop educational and training systems
• Work with legacy code and limited documentation
• Analyze code, diagnose issues, and resolve problems
• Add new functionalities based on business and customer needs
• Ensure high quality of delivered code
• Take responsibility for the correctness of project technical documentation
• Collaborate closely with other IT areas and the company (e.g., customer support, marketing)
• Occasionally participate in projects using newer technologies (microservices, APIs, RabbitMQ, etc.)

Requirements

• Very good knowledge of PHP (PHP 8.3/8.4 and PHP 5.6) and one SQL database (MySQL/PostgreSQL/Oracle/MS SQL)
• Strong analytical skills for navigating complex, multi-layer code and connecting related elements
• Framework knowledge at least at a good level: Symfony, Laravel, Zend, CodeIgniter, or Yii
• Knowledge of design patterns, Git, Composer, and REST API
• Familiarity with tools necessary to maintain high-quality code
• Ability to integrate services (API, REST/SOAP, XML, CSV)
• Basic knowledge of the front-end stack: HTML/CSS/JavaScript
