Backend Developer focused on building a new cloud booking/appointment system on AWS. Remote option across the Czech Republic with periodic team meetings in Prague. You’ll collaborate with a lead developer and architect and work with high autonomy.

Description

You’ll build a new “booking” application from scratch and help shape its architecture and domain model. The stack centers on Java + Spring Boot with event sourcing / CQRS using Axon, running on AWS with CI/CD-driven testing and deployments.

Responsibilities

• Design backend solutions with the lead developer and architect
• Contribute your opinion and learn through discussions, including event storming and domain modeling
• Implement services in Java and Spring Boot
• Build event-sourced and CQRS components with Axon (Axon Server)
• Work with AWS resources (RDS/PostgreSQL and messaging) and optionally manage part of the AWS configuration
• Test and deploy via CI/CD and take ownership across the full system lifecycle

Requirements

• Ability to write code in Java
• Basic experience with Spring Boot or Java backend development
• Understanding of relational databases and SQL
• Language: C1 Czech/Slovak; B2 English for calls or documentation
• Cloud knowledge (e.g., AWS/GCP/Azure) is a plus
• Event-driven architecture, message brokers (Kafka/SQS/SNS), or CQRS experience is a plus
