Description

You will design and build production-ready Python backend services with Django, including APIs and integrations between AI models/agents, data, and other systems. The role includes building data and processing pipelines for AI/ML workloads, working on async/distributed processing, and integrating LLM and retrieval/RAG components. You’ll optimize performance, debug issues across the stack, and own solutions from architecture through production operations.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement backend services in Python and Django
  • Design APIs and integration layers between AI models/agents, data, and other systems
  • Build data and processing pipelines for AI/ML workloads
  • Handle asynchronous and distributed processing
  • Work with PostgreSQL, Redis, Celery, and other data technologies
  • Optimize application performance, database queries, caching, and data flows
  • Implement embedding, retrieval, vector search, and custom RAG components
  • Integrate LLM models and agent systems into production applications
  • Profile and debug issues across applications, databases, networks, and operating systems
  • Use Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD
  • Take responsibility from architecture design to production operations

Requirements

  • Very strong Python skills and experience building production backend systems
  • Practical experience with Django
  • Practical experience with Cursor, Codex, or Claude Code
  • Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and relational databases
  • Experience scaling and optimizing production applications
  • Understanding of asynchronous programming, concurrency, and background processing
  • Practical experience with Celery (or similar mechanisms) for distributed jobs
  • Good orientation in Linux/UNIX environments
  • Ability to use shell tools and work with processes, permissions, filesystem, networking, logs, and system services
  • Ability to diagnose problems independently directly on the server
  • Knowledge of Git, automated testing, and common deployment practices
