Description

You will analyze the impacts of social policies on clients of social services, working with social workers to gather and synthesize both qualitative and quantitative data. The role includes preparing reports (e.g., Caritas CARES), summarizing organizational feedback on proposed legislation, and contributing to position documents and advocacy materials. You will also prepare presentation materials and support the technical coordination of expert committees (including Teams setup and logistics).

Responsibilities

  • Analyze impacts of social policies on clients of social services in collaboration with social workers

  • Collect qualitative and quantitative data per assigned tasks

  • Summarize Caritas Czech Republic comments on proposed social legislation and submit for expert review

  • Prepare studies and position documents aligned with organizational positions

  • Create materials for meetings and negotiations

  • Prepare presentations of analyses, expert stances, and current situations in relevant areas

  • Coordinate the technical functioning of expert committees (technical setup, spaces, Teams information, organizational tasks during member changes and chair elections)

  • Collaborate with Caritas Europa; prepare responses to questionnaires and represent (typically online) at the Working Group on Social Inclusion

  • Support the press team by helping promote analysis results

  • Assist with preparation of conferences, roundtables, and working meetings (technical and organizational)

  • Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor based on current needs

Requirements

  • University degree (ideally sociology, social work, social policy or related)

  • Advanced English (written and spoken)

  • Orientation in social policy topics such as poverty, social exclusion, help for seniors, and persons with disabilities

  • Strong written communication in Czech

  • Good proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Outlook, and Teams

  • Organizational, coordination, and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and responsibly; teamwork and collective responsibility

  • Presentation skills, including producing high-quality presentations

  • Proactive and creative approach; ability to identify new topics and track social policy developments (including parliamentary/senate activity)

  • Willingness for occasional domestic travel (and occasionally abroad)

  • Ability to quickly ramp up on new topics and adapt to time-sensitive advocacy needs

  • Sense of social justice and commitment to human rights; political neutrality and positive attitude toward the EU
