Description

You will manage and support an IT setup combining Windows 10/11 and Apple Mac for a research and education environment. The work includes administering the network and classroom/lecture-room technology, installing and configuring computers and end-user applications, and assisting with application and partly server administration. You will also coordinate with vendors, maintain IT hardware records, and contribute to IT infrastructure documentation and improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Administer computer networks (Windows 10/11, Apple Mac), printers, WiFi, and technical equipment in lecture rooms and classrooms
  • Install and configure computers and user applications; support and train users
  • Participate in administration of applications (antivirus, print system, camera system, access system, licensing server, asset management, etc.) and partially server administration (mainly Windows Server; Linux possible)
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding purchases of hardware, software, and licenses
  • Maintain evidence/inventory of computing equipment (asset records)
  • Contribute to IT infrastructure development projects and related documentation

Requirements

  • Technical education (secondary or university); graduates welcome
  • Ability to communicate with users in English (written and spoken)
  • General understanding of IT
  • Knowledge of MS Windows 11 and Apple Mac
  • Knowledge of office software
  • Strong communication, independence, and reliability
  • Nice to have: knowledge or willingness to learn/teach in one or more areas (Apple Mac administration; IT security and networking including backup; Windows Server & Active Directory administration; creating small support applications/scripts)
