Description

You will manage financial portfolio transparency by monitoring budgets, creating forecasts, and analyzing variances across multiple IT projects. The role includes consolidation of budget data, decision-ready reporting for SteerCo/management, and support for business cases, budget approvals, and change requests. You will define and apply PM standards and tools for budget tracking, resource costs, and dependencies, and communicate clearly with executive stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Financial portfolio management: budget monitoring, forecasting, variance analysis across all projects

  • Data analysis: consolidate budgets from multiple projects; identify trends and deviations (Excel/BI)

  • Reporting: prepare financial and portfolio reports for SteerCo and management, including decision-ready templates

  • Business case & approvals: create and review business cases; manage budget approvals and change requests

  • Governance & standards: define and consistently apply PM standards/tools for budget tracking, resource costs, and dependencies

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in financial steering of large project portfolios (ideally 15–20+ projects in parallel)

  • Very fast, confident handling of complex numbers with little onboarding time

  • Experience communicating with management/SteerCo decision-makers

  • Solid controlling/accounting knowledge

  • Experience in managing approval processes for IT projects (budget approvals, change requests)

  • Assertiveness when challenging project leads and PMOs on financial topics

  • Fluent English and very good German
