20,000 - 26,000 PLN/yr

Quick Facts

  • Role: IoT Engineer / Specialist

  • Focus: Technical ownership of an enterprise open-source IoT platform for on-site utilities/media management

Description

You will implement, configure, and iteratively develop an IoT platform that integrates building systems data (e.g., HVAC, lighting, energy meters, air-quality sensors) and turns it into automation, reporting, and business-relevant decisions for customers. You will own data processing rules, device integrations, customer dashboards, and platform APIs for external system connectivity. The work also covers performance, scalability, and security as the platform expands to more objects and locations.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and configure the platform as a central monitoring and control system for on-site utilities/media management

  • Build and maintain data processing rules (Rule Engine), device integrations, and client dashboards

  • Integrate the platform with building/device layer protocols: Modbus RTU/TCP, BACnet IP/MSTP, MQTT, LoRaWAN, Zigbee

  • Develop APIs and integrate with external reporting systems (e.g., ESG/EPBD reporting)

  • Collect and prioritize customer needs and translate them into a platform roadmap

  • Optimize performance, scalability, and security as the number of sites grows

  • Collaborate with automation engineers on selecting measurement and control devices aligned with the platform architecture

  • Support pilot deployments and iterate quickly based on feedback

Requirements

  • Experience designing and developing IoT systems, including communication broker architecture (MQTT, CoAP, HTTP), device integration, and telemetry processing

  • Backend programming skills (Java, JavaScript/Node.js, or Python) for rules, integrations, and microservices

  • Knowledge of building automation protocols: Modbus (RTU/TCP) and BACnet (IP/MSTP)

  • Knowledge of time-series databases (e.g., Cassandra, PostgreSQL, InfluxDB) and working with REST APIs

  • Experience deploying and maintaining systems in the cloud or on dedicated infrastructure using Docker

  • Product approach: ability to translate customer and market needs into concrete platform features

  • Independence, initiative, and ability to quickly learn new platforms/tools

  • English skills to work with technical documentation

Benefits

  • Real impact on product development during early scaling (multi-location deployments, 200+ objects)

  • Direct collaboration with engineering, sales, and management teams

  • Flexible engagement model (employment or B2B)

  • Remote or hybrid work option

  • Time to ramp up on the platform with support, documentation, and community resources
