Description

Lead SAP ABAP development for SAP S/4HANA projects, driving innovation through proof of concepts and enforcing build governance and clean-core principles. You will design and develop solutions with ABAP RAP/CDS, OData services, and Fiori/UI5, and evaluate emerging SAP technologies for business applicability. You will also provide technical guidance, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and reusable documentation for project teams.

Responsibilities

• Ensure robust ABAP delivery through QA and governance of build standards
• Design and develop POCs using ABAP, RAP, CDS views, OData, and Fiori/UI5
• Support Clean Core development to minimize modifications and maximize standard SAP extensibility
• Review and approve technical designs, code, and configurations
• Explore and evaluate new SAP technologies (RAP, CAP, SAP Build, Event-Driven Architecture, Embedded Analytics)
• Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting, and performance optimization support
• Collaborate with solution architects and functional consultants
• Document POC learnings, reference architectures, and reusable components
• Contribute to automation, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines for SAP development

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of SAP ABAP/S/4HANA development experience, with focus on innovation and prototyping
• Expertise in ABAP on HANA, CDS Views, and performance tuning
• Experience with RAP and CAP
• Proficiency with Fiori/UI5 and OData services
• Knowledge of BTP extensibility and cloud integration, including Event-Driven Architecture, APIs, and Event Mesh
• Deep understanding of S/4HANA extensibility concepts (in-app, on-stack, side-by-side)
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, DevOps, and test automation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to coordinate implementation plans, operational tasks, escalations, and performance improvements
• English proficiency at B2 level
