Description

Support the development, validation, and management of transaction monitoring models used to analyze customer transactions and flag potentially suspicious activity. You will own model documentation and reviews, contribute to model governance within the TMU, and drive validation assessments and recommendations. The role also includes hands-on prototype and test support, model performance monitoring, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate transaction monitoring models, including documentation, model reviews, and model governance

  • Drive model governance activities within the TMU (validation assessments; implementation of recommendations and feedback)

  • Set direction for model development and experimental design while balancing analytical rigor with practical constraints

  • Document model design and outcomes; collaborate with analytics teams on model assumptions, limitations, and weaknesses

  • Provide hands-on support for prototypes, tests, and analytical methodologies

  • Mentor the analytics team and support the design, testing, and implementation of SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)

  • Support data lineage and data governance, model tuning and calibration, and monitoring model performance and outcomes

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and represent the organization professionally

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role

  • Extensive experience in Model Risk Management, Model Governance, and Model Validation

  • Strong background in Data Science, statistics, and quantitative methods

  • Experience producing technical/academic documentation, particularly model documentation

  • Master’s degree or higher in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related)

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills

  • Well-organized, professional, able to take initiative and work independently

  • Assertive communication; ability to set direction and achieve results in a dynamic environment
