About the role

We are looking for a Senior AML Data Analyst to join a strategic initiative focused on enhancing Transaction Monitoring and Financial Crime detection capabilities within a large international financial organization.

In this role, you will design and optimize detection logic, leverage contextual data and analytics to identify suspicious financial activities, and improve monitoring effectiveness while reducing false positives. You will collaborate with business, compliance, and technology teams to deliver scalable, high-quality monitoring solutions in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement detection logic for Transaction Monitoring solutions
  • Develop and configure scoring models within the monitoring platform
  • Design AML and Financial Crime detection use cases
  • Calibrate scoring models and optimize detection thresholds
  • Ensure model explainability and compliance with AML governance requirements
  • Analyze data and identify opportunities to improve monitoring effectiveness
  • Collaborate with business, compliance, and technology stakeholders
  • Translate regulatory requirements into technical solutions
  • Mentor junior engineers and support technical decision-making
  • Contribute to Agile delivery across cross-functional teams

Requirements (must-have)

  • Proven experience in Data Analysis
  • Experience in Financial Crime, AML, or Transaction Monitoring projects
  • Experience designing or implementing detection logic or scoring models
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of AML regulatory requirements and model governance
  • Experience working with large datasets
  • Experience working in Agile environments
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluent English

Nice to have

  • Experience with the Quantexa platform
  • Experience in banking or financial services
  • Experience mentoring technical teams
