Description

You will architect, build, and continuously improve multi-tenant cloud platforms using OpenStack/VMware, covering datacenter, network, security, storage, and compute integration. The role includes creating platform blueprints, operating concepts, and scaling models, as well as capacity planning for compute, storage, and network resources. You’ll also support PreSales with architecture design and technical effort estimates and act as a technical sparring partner.

Responsibilities

• Architecture, setup, and further development of multi-tenant platforms (OpenStack/VMware)
• Design datacenter, network, and security architecture (backbone, firewalls, racks, switches)
• Design and integrate network, security, storage, and compute components
• Create platform blueprints, operating concepts, and scaling models
• Perform sizing and capacity planning for compute, storage, and network resources
• Design new cloud services and help shape the service portfolio
• Evaluate new technologies and assess suitability for platform use
• Support PreSales with architecture design, capacity planning, and effort estimates
• Create and maintain architecture documentation, standards, and guidelines
• Provide technical support and sparring for engineers, consultants, and team leads

Requirements

• Completed degree in Computer Science or comparable qualification
• At least 3 years of experience in designing and operating complex cloud and datacenter infrastructures
• Excellent expertise in VMware (vSphere, NSX, vSAN, vCloud Director) and/or OpenStack
• Deep knowledge of datacenter network architecture, enterprise storage, and security concepts
• Experience designing multi-tenant platforms with tenant-capable isolation
• Knowledge of automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible, APIs)
• Ability to communicate complex architectures and translate them into concepts
• Experience collaborating with PreSales and customers at a technical level
• Relevant certifications are an advantage
• Very good German and English skills
