Description

You will lead teaching and academic development in robotics and software development for a new Bachelor program combining modern robotics with hardware-near software development. The position requires systematically connecting robotics and software development, including practical experience in the conception, development, integration, and commissioning of robotic systems. You will also help shape the program profile and expand teaching and research infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Teach in the area of robotics and software development

  • Actively participate in the profile development of the new Bachelor’s program

  • Set up a lab for teaching and research in the hiring domain

  • Contribute to applied research and development projects in the hiring domain together with other faculty professors

  • Support further development of the teaching area, self-administration, and continuing education

  • Teach in general engineering fundamentals—especially foundational engineering informatics

  • Deliver additional lectures and practical courses in German and English for Bachelor’s and Master’s programs

Requirements

  • Completed university degree, preferably in an engineering or technical field

  • Proven ability for academic work, typically demonstrated by the quality of a PhD

  • Teaching and pedagogical aptitude

  • Demonstrated special achievements in applying or developing scientific findings and methods, evidenced by at least five years of professional practice after graduation, including at least three years outside academia (exceptions possible via substantial collaborative work between the university and external practice over at least five years)

  • Knowledge and experience with complex robotic systems or multi-axis machines, preferably in industrial, medical, rehabilitation, or assistive application fields

  • Multi-year practical experience in industrial development of system software for machines and devices

  • Experience using AI-supported tools and methods in software development
