Description

The PROS Rare Disease Business Leader executes key priorities with a rare-disease-specific focus across large, complex Centers of Excellence and other relevant accounts. The role engages Medical Experts and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to support patient identification, expand appropriate product utilization and market share, and position the product compliantly within the broader therapeutic landscape. In addition to face-to-face interactions, the leader uses virtual engagements and digital resources to deliver an impactful experience for key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Drive demand and influence decision-making among local and national Medical Experts and key HCPs within Centers of Excellence and assigned accounts
  • Educate on PROS, challenge patient-management approaches when appropriate, and communicate product value compliantly
  • Develop, coordinate, and execute account-focused strategic commercial business plans aligned to account objectives and disease-state strategy
  • Support educational program design and implementation for multidisciplinary teams to promote awareness, identification, and care for PROS patients
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners and key account personnel to deliver a cohesive “One Novartis” experience and maintain knowledge of relevant resources
  • Map stakeholder and customer needs, build relationships, and address product access opportunities and policy updates based on payer mix
  • Use digital tools and platforms for virtual HCP engagement; guide customers in using Novartis digital platforms
  • Leverage sales reporting and customer insights to identify territory and growth opportunities
  • Lead generation and prospecting: identify potential patients, evaluate opportunities, and determine needed follow-through resources
  • Gather actionable insights via local/national conferences and communicate findings to field and headquarters teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 7+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical/biotech/healthcare or similarly structured industries with large, geographically dispersed teams
  • 3+ years’ experience in one or a combination of Key Account/Sales, Management, Marketing, Reimbursement Management, or Institutional sales (preferred)
  • 3+ years’ experience managing complex accounts (academic centers and hospitals) with demonstrated strategic account management success
  • Demonstrated healthcare ecosystem thinking and technology/digital engagement proficiency with strong therapeutic area and product knowledge expertise
  • Strong business acumen and ability to collaborate across functions in a matrix environment
  • Must reside within the assigned territory or an immediately adjacent territory within reasonable proximity to a major commercial airport
  • Ability to travel 60–80% of the time; must be able to drive and/or fly throughout the territory
  • Valid driver’s license required (driving is an essential function)
  • Must complete required initial training (home study; ≤8 hours/day and ≤40 hours/week)
