Description

You will develop, maintain, and optimize business-critical Java applications and services end-to-end for consumer lending. The role includes contributing to architecture and technology choices, owning software quality via automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and best practices, and ensuring security, stability, and regulatory compliance in production.

Requirements

• Completed degree in (Business) Informatics or a comparable qualification

• 10+ years of professional experience in Java software development

• Strong knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, and software architecture

• Practical experience with CI/CD, DevOps, testing, monitoring, and observability

• Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design, event-driven architectures, or Kafka (preferred)

• High quality standards, ownership mindset, and strong teamwork skills

• Ideally experience in regulated environments (banking, finance, insurance)

• Ability to think beyond your own scope and develop sustainable solutions

• Fluent German and English (oral and written)

Responsibilities

• Develop, operate, and optimize Java applications and services for consumer lending

• Implement new features end-to-end—from design and development to productive operations

• Collaborate effectively across disciplines with Product Owners, architects, and international engineering teams

• Participate in architecture decisions and strategic discussions on technology selection, product development, and long-term platform direction

• Proactively ensure quality by introducing and promoting automated tests, CI/CD, monitoring, and best practices

• Take responsibility for security, stability, and regulatory requirements in product operations

• Support teamwork by coaching colleagues and exchanging expertise within the team
