Quick Facts
Principal-level individual contributor product role focused on therapist compensation and incentives in a two-sided marketplace. Remote-friendly (PST-based), with travel to a San Jose, CA office up to three times per year plus one company-wide offsite for collaboration.
Description
Own the economic mechanisms that determine whether clients who need care can find the right licensed therapist in their state under their plan, as soon as possible. You will be accountable for business outcomes—by designing, testing, measuring, and systematizing incentive and compensation mechanisms that shift therapist availability toward where clients are waiting.
Responsibilities
- Own the incentive system that moves therapist availability toward where clients actually need it; targeted, measurable, reversible.
- Own the structure and clarity of the compensation model: what a therapist can predict about earnings and what the model rewards.
- Define what “well supplied” means and build tools/features that close the gap.
- Build a compelling and sustainable earnings proposition for therapists using controlled rollouts and rigorous measurement.
- Incentivize behaviors that create client access: therapist availability, match acceptance, and continuity of care.
- Analyze and quantify the impact of every change; draw conclusions and plan next steps based on actual data.
- Partner closely with matching, eligibility, member experience, therapist experience, and provider acquisition teams.
- Work cross-functionally with finance, clinical, legal, marketing, data science, and operations to design, approve, launch, and measure changes.
- Participate in setting strategy and long-term direction for the organization.
- Own KPIs and stay KPI-obsessed.
- In a nutshell: Diagnose, model, design, test, measure, decide, systematize.
What you will NOT do
- Not worry about “runway,” “cash left,” or time until the next round.
- Not be confined to your job; you’ll get involved across product, marketing, business strategy, and more.
- Not be bogged down by office politics/ego/bad attitude; only positive, pleasure-to-work-with people.
- Not get burned out; sustainable work/life balance.
Requirements
- 8-10 years experience in a product role with measurable impact and increasing responsibilities.
- Experience owning pricing, incentives, payouts, or supply-side economics in a two-sided marketplace.
- Super analytical: build the model, defend it with data science, and explain it to a CFO.
- Deep understanding of unit and business economics; ability to balance business, clinical, and technical considerations.
- Ability to distinguish which decisions to test cheaply vs. which can only be made once.
- Strong understanding of marketplace dynamics and two-sided marketplace business models.
- Sound judgment in ambiguity: know when to act vs. when to dig deeper; explain the call.
- Track record driving cross-functional decisions to a conclusion without authority over stakeholders.
- Excellent written communication for quantitative executive arguments.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills; strong attention to detail; ability to work independently.
Bonus (Great to have, but not required)
- Supply-side economics experience where supply is labor (ride-hail, delivery, professional services).
- Experience compensating independent contractor workforces.
- Experience in healthcare, insurance, or other eligibility/payer-driven markets.
- Fluency with experimentation and causal inference without clean randomization.
Benefits
- Remote work with regular in-person bonding experiences sponsored by the company.
- Competitive compensation and performance bonus eligibility.
- Holistic perks program (including free therapy and employee wellness).
- Excellent health, dental, and vision coverage.
- 401k benefits with employer matching contribution.
- Opportunity to build something that changes lives and is loved by people.
- Any piece of hardware or software to make you happy and productive.
- Awesome community of co-workers.
Base salary range: $210,000 - $250,000.
