Description

The Senior Product Manager, Marketplaces is accountable for internal and external products, platforms, services, and experiences that achieve defined business outcomes. The role identifies customer problems/unmet needs, technical feasibility, and business objectives, secures funding, and leads a cross-functional team to deliver end-to-end. It also champions customer solutions leveraging T-Mobile's Business Marketplace platform, assisting with vendor solution selection and onboarding, and supports go-to-market and partnership collaboration strategies.

Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Owns product end to end for complex or cross-platform solutions, including creating, managing, maintaining, and communicating product vision and roadmap
  • Identifies target customers and designs/drives end user product research
  • Partners with stakeholders and Leadership to understand current customer experiences and areas of opportunity
  • Conducts analysis of quantitative and qualitative data to identify product innovation opportunities or root cause of issues
  • Supports decision-making with cost-benefit/ROI/NPV analysis and competitive product analysis
  • Secures and maintains product funding via enterprise process
  • Anticipates industry trends and incorporates potential impacts/opportunities into product process

Stakeholder Communication & Executive Engagement

  • Communicates, influences, and sells ideas at VP level and below, including regularly delivering product presentations
  • Drives ad hoc analysis and presents information to executive level management on request
  • Influences product feature set and positioning strategies to improve customer experience and drive growth
  • Works with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities
  • Maintains understanding of tech trends and evaluates how trends impact the roadmap

Customer Insights & Voice of Customer

  • Leverages customer insights for product vision, strategy, roadmap, and priorities
  • May meet with customers to build deeper empathy and understand needs and priorities
  • Creates, manages, and fosters an active VOC feed for self and team
  • Looks for opportunities to delight customers and meet unmet needs
  • Evangelizes customer-first mindset internally and externally
  • Tests ideas with real customers to ensure desired product benefit

Product Execution & Backlog Management

  • Translates product/platform strategy into detailed requirements and required documentation/artifacts
  • Owns and manages product backlog and priorities with business and technology partners
  • Scopes and ensures alignment on prioritization based on business and customer impact
  • Collaborates with Architecture and Dev teams to factor technical debt and long-term technical investment into the roadmap
  • Ensures existing production defects are included in regular backlog prioritization
  • Creates and communicates anticipated release schedules with Dev/Execution teams and stakeholders
  • Generates and maintains dashboards and reports for product health and success metrics
  • Conducts Product Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and Steering meetings

Product Performance & Operations

  • Runs beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and platform capabilities
  • Collaborates with advertising and public relations to promote products
  • Supports sales, marketing, and other stakeholder teams with product knowledge and documentation
  • Assists with platform execution from strategy/architecture through deployment and support
  • Identifies and communicates technical challenges, making educated trade-off decisions
  • Accountable for product quality and performance in production, including response and stakeholder communications for critical defects
  • Manages adoption tools and training materials
  • Identifies execution/operational/organizational issues and drives improvement plans within sphere of influence

Relationship & People, Professional Development

  • Collaborates and develops relationships with sales, commercial accounting, marketing, legal, go-to-market, finance, and outside partners
  • Develops relationships with customer groups or representatives
  • Maintains professional knowledge through workshops, publications, networks, and professional societies
  • Develops adoption tools and training material

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (Required)
  • 7+ years of relevant Product Management experience
  • Advanced level understanding of customer experience
  • Experience launching products in the Government / Public Safety segment
  • Product Lifecycle Management experience delivering large and complex business/technology initiatives (Required)
  • Proven communication skills with Leadership and strong collaboration/influence (Required)
  • Proven success directing matrixed resources and delivering software using Agile Scrum methodologies across multiple teams (Required)
  • Strong requirements elicitation and technical writing ability for different audiences (Required)
  • Strong business analytics to identify/analyze/synthesize product use data and drive decisions (Required)
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Travel required
  • Not DOT regulated; not a safety sensitive position
