Description

Build production files based on new files from art direction while collaborating with the art director to maintain design integrity. Update existing production files, create new production files from existing files or templates, and build/hand off files that will be programmed into template-based tools. Produce digital, fillable, and interactive PDFs, ensure accessibility requirements are met, and make accurate copy and layout edits during reviews while meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain integrity of original design with the art director
  • Update production files of existing pieces
  • Build new production files based on existing files or templates
  • Build and hand off files to be programmed into template-based tools
  • Produce digital, fillable, interactive PDFs
  • Ensure all files meet accessibility requirements
  • Accurately make copy and layout edits during reviews and meet deadlines
  • Check files for completeness and adherence to brand standards and production specifications
  • Work with the print production manager to provide accurate files to the print vendor
  • Preflight approved files for final handoff to print production
  • Review soft and hard proofs as requested
  • Perform image adjustments (resolution, resizing, cropping, retouching)
  • Proactively communicate with the project team to prevent timing/final deliverable issues
  • Ask for necessary information; come prepared to kickoffs and meetings
  • Produce logo files for Alliance/Advisor statements, Fixed Income reports, and Retirement Plan Services statements
  • Organize, monitor, archive, and maintain files on the server
  • Maintain knowledge of C2 and studio team systems/processes; recommend improvements
  • Assist with creating or maintaining team process documentation
  • Learn Schwab products, services, audiences, and resources; keep skills current
  • Share project and technical knowledge with the studio design team

Requirements

  • Expert level mastery of Adobe InDesign
  • Basic to intermediate mastery of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Basic to intermediate mastery of Adobe Acrobat and creating interactive, fillable PDFs
  • Basic understanding of accessibility standards in digital and print
  • Experience working within strict brand guidelines, plus current Schwab working experience
  • Strong print prepress knowledge
  • Additional consideration: experience in the print industry
  • Basic knowledge of HTML tags is helpful
