Upper Extremities Sales Associate

Description

Partner with Sales Representative(s) to learn the medical device industry and Upper Extremities business, then contribute to business growth in the assigned territory. Support sales call activities including covering cases, marketing and promotion in assigned accounts, building sets, managing inventory, and—after training—converting customers. Attend surgeries to ensure products are available for surgeon use and instruct surgeons regarding product use and functionality.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Sales Rep(s) on sales call pattern activities, including covering cases in the assigned territory.
  • Market and promote products in assigned accounts; build sets; manage inventory.
  • Attend surgeries where Upper Extremities products are used to ensure products are available and instruct surgeons.
  • Educate doctors, nurses, and appropriate staff on proper use and maintenance, product functionality and updates, and portfolio changes.
  • Contact customers to identify sales opportunities, deliver excellent customer service, and develop customer relationships.
  • Identify needs of new prospects with the assigned Sales Representative and develop appropriate responses.
  • After product training, tailor promotional messages, advise on appropriate product selection, answer functionality questions, and differentiate from competitors.
  • Perform field calls for assigned accounts and territory.
  • Assist in implementing new sales plans and effective marketing strategies; help meet and exceed business targets (quotas).
  • Act as primary backup contact for Sales Representative(s); learn basic field knowledge including regulatory compliance.
  • Assist with resolution of problems or questions in accounts.
  • Partner with Sales Rep(s) on inventory management and building proper inventory levels and sets.
  • Assist in acquiring and processing Customer Purchase Orders (POs) for proper invoicing; maintain training in sales skills and products.
  • Market the product line using knowledge of functionality, features, and differentiators; remain current on industry, customer, and competitive trends.
  • Attend sales meetings and professional association meetings outside regular business hours.
  • Consistently adhere to compliance and responsibility principles (AdvaMed): maintain privacy and confidentiality, protect assets, act with ethics and integrity, report non-compliance, and follow applicable laws/regulations and company policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree OR Associate’s degree or Medical Certification (e.g., CST, PT, CPT, etc.) + at least 2 years of professional and/or related experience
  • High School Diploma + at least 4 years of professional and/or related experience
  • 4+ years of active duty military service

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in sales, military service, leadership roles, athletics, or other performance-based environments
  • Healthcare or clinical exposure through work experience, certifications, internships, or patient-facing roles
  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Biology, Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field
  • Completion of a relevant internship or professional experience in sales or healthcare
