Technical Product Owner — Enterprise Observability Platform

Senior • On-site

Warsaw, Poland

Quick Facts

  • Role: Product leader owning functional design and capability roadmap for an enterprise-scale observability platform
  • Focus: Trusted telemetry, health models, SLOs, dashboards, detection signals to enable AIOps across a detect-to-correct pipeline

Description

Own the functional design and capability roadmap for an enterprise-scale observability platform that creates telemetry, health models, SLOs, dashboards, and detection signals needed by event management, AI-guided diagnosis, and automated remediation. Help advance a modern, vendor-agnostic, composable observability platform built on open standards such as OpenTelemetry and Prometheus, translating product strategy into coherent capabilities: trusted telemetry, real-time monitoring, dashboards, synthetic monitoring, RUM, alerting, and SLO management.

What You Will Enable

  • Earlier, more reliable detection with continuous visibility into application health, dependencies, and end-user experience using measurable SLOs and detection signals
  • A trusted signal foundation for AIOps via consistent, contextual, governable telemetry correlated, enriched, and acted on by event management, AI-guided diagnosis, automation, and future agentic capabilities
  • Faster cross-domain diagnosis by ensuring telemetry includes identifiers and context to map signals to topology and service models, including topology discovery from distributed traces
  • Coherent self-service observability through reusable dashboards, monitoring experiences, alerting, synthetic monitoring, RUM, and SLO capabilities
  • Continuous reliability improvement by turning operational evidence into better health models, SLOs, monitoring, dashboards, and alerting

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end functional design across telemetry ingestion, real-time monitoring, dashboards, synthetic monitoring, RUM, alerting, and SLO management; eliminate functional gaps, duplication, and inconsistent experiences
  • Own the capability roadmap; translate product strategy, SRE needs, and the competitive observability landscape into a capability-level roadmap
  • Lead deep technical discovery with SREs, operations teams, platform engineers, application owners, and architects to understand pain points, workflows, telemetry needs, failure modes, and complex setups
  • Define rigorous product requirements: functional specifications, user journeys, telemetry and integration requirements, non-functional expectations, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Guide engineering design for APIs, telemetry models, integration patterns, configuration models, scalability, security, and extensibility; make functional trade-offs grounded in technical reality
  • Enable topology integration: define consistent telemetry identifiability/mappability to topology and service context, supporting topology discovery and enrichment
  • Create a coherent product experience with consistent concepts, workflows, defaults, and self-service patterns across capabilities and personas
  • Assure functional quality and measurable value by validating end-to-end coherence and contribution to SLO coverage, MTTD, MTTR, automation readiness, adoption, and user satisfaction

Requirements

  • Engineering or deeply technical product background strongly preferred (Software Engineer, Platform Engineer, SRE, Observability Engineer, Solution Architect, Data Engineer, or Technical Product Owner)
  • Experience shaping enterprise-grade, data-intensive infrastructure/developer-platform/observability/monitoring products through discovery, functional design, roadmap ownership, and engineering delivery
  • Strong technical depth across cloud and distributed systems, APIs, data models, telemetry pipelines, metrics, logs, traces, events, dashboards, alerting, and SLIs/SLOs
  • Proven ability to define functional product architecture, detailed specifications, user journeys, non-functional expectations, and precise acceptance criteria
  • Excellent written and verbal English to guide engineers/architects and connect design decisions to SRE, reliability, user, and business outcomes
  • Plus: design-level or hands-on observability experience (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, LogScale, Loki, Tempo, Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk, New Relic, Azure Monitor, Google Cloud Observability)
  • Deep familiarity with SRE practices and the operations value chain from observe/detect through correlate/triage, investigate/diagnose, resolve/learn, and prevention
  • Experience designing telemetry schemas, correlation identifiers, topology-aware integrations, distributed tracing, onboarding patterns, API-driven platforms, multi-tenant systems, and reusable/configuration-driven product models
  • Experience with product discovery, journey mapping, service design, usability testing, or self-service design for technical products
  • Familiarity with ITIL 4 monitoring and event management/incident management/problem management within the detect-to-correct value stream
  • SAFe PO/PM, PSPO, SRE, cloud, OpenTelemetry, or relevant engineering certification

Benefits

  • P&G-sized projects with access to world-leading IT partners and technologies from Day 1
  • Self-development options (training and certification paths)
  • Competitive starting salary and benefits (private health care, P&G stock, saving plans, sport cards)
  • Regular salary increases and possible promotions aligned with results
  • Opportunity to change role every few years
  • Hybrid work model: remote flexibility plus in-office collaboration; option to work from home two days per week
