Description

Risk surveyors collect photos, audio, and documents on site. AI pipelines process that evidence and draft risk assessment reports that used to take days of manual work. The backend powers evidence processing and report writing, running asynchronously through Celery.

Responsibilities

• Own backend features end to end: data model, API, production, monitoring (nothing handed off halfway)
• Build and extend the AI pipelines at the heart of the product; harden and optimize as volume scales
• Ship LLM-powered features that work in production: prompt design, structured outputs, confidence handling, evaluation
• Keep quality high with tested, reviewable, maintainable code while moving fast
• Use AI tools (Claude, Cursor, etc.) daily to work at a high level

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional backend experience with strong Python
• Solid grasp of relational databases and API design; can model a complex domain cleanly
• Production experience with async task queues (Celery or similar)
• Pragmatic and self-directed; ships things and communicates clearly in English

Nice-to-haves

• TypeScript/React for frontend changes when needed
• Experience integrating LLMs or AI models into production systems
• Django specifically
