Description

We’re looking for a Senior Back End Developer who thrives on building elegant systems and meaningful user experiences. In this role, you’ll help shape the architecture and performance of the platform, primarily working on backend systems with PHP and Symfony.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design and develop scalable backend services using PHP and Symfony, ensuring performance, stability, and maintainability across the platform.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, QA engineers, and fellow developers to bring ideas from concept to launch.
• Participate in thoughtful code reviews to elevate code quality, strengthen architecture, and support team learning.
• Improve conventions, hooks, and review automation that agents rely on.
• Take ownership of features from initial concept through implementation, optimization, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Need

• 5+ years of experience in back-end development, delivering production-ready applications.
• Strong expertise in PHP and a deep understanding of software design principles and scalable architecture.
• Extensive hands-on experience with the Symfony framework.
• Routine hands-on work with agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or comparable) on production code.
• Spec and verification discipline: quality is decided before the first line of code, and you close the loop with plans, tests and blocking checks.
• Deliberate context management and real strength at reviewing agent-generated code.
• Proficiency with Git and modern collaborative development workflows.
• Clear and effective communication skills for a distributed global team.

Nice If You Have

• Experience working with MySQL and ORM frameworks such as Doctrine.
• Experience making a large legacy codebase agent-friendly, or with MCP servers.
