Description

The role focuses on in-field capture of photos, audio, and notes via mobile apps that often operate without signal. You will own both native apps and build capture flows, offline-first sync, and background uploads so surveyors can rely on the app during full site visits. You will work closely with backend engineers and the CTO with full autonomy over both platforms.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship features across both native apps; keep iOS and Android in sync and run the release process end to end
• Create reliable capture functionality: camera, audio recording, and file handling
• Implement offline-first sync: local storage, conflict handling, and background uploads on flaky connections
• Own quality across both platforms: testing, crash monitoring, and performance

Requirements

• 3+ years of mobile experience with production apps in both Swift and Kotlin
• Experience with offline storage, data sync, and background tasks
• Comfortable owning both platforms solo
• Clear communicator in English

Nice-to-haves

• Camera, audio, or media-heavy apps
• Apps used in field or industrial settings with poor connectivity
• Experience working with Django/REST backends
