Lead Java Software Engineer

We are seeking a Lead Java Software Engineer to design and build next-generation business applications using modern technologies. You will work within the Wealth Management Investing delivery team in the Technology division, providing digital banking solutions for clients and client advisors.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technology solutions to solve business problems and strengthen digital leadership in financial services.
  • Design, plan and deliver sustainable solutions using modern programming languages.
  • Analyze business requirements to remove ambiguity and refine deliverables.
  • Collaborate with team members, software architects and third-party providers to drive delivery.
  • Assess new software projects and initiatives by offering technical expertise and recommendations.
  • Conduct code reviews and test software as needed.
  • Participate in application architecture, design and other phases of the SDLC.
  • Ensure proper operational controls and procedures are implemented to support the transition from test to production.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering with Java and an excellent understanding of modern web application development.
  • Strong know-how across the entire technology stack of Java backend and web-based frontend development.
  • Proficiency in Java and associated frameworks such as Spring, JPA and Hibernate.
  • Working knowledge of front-end technologies such as TypeScript/JavaScript, Angular and React.
  • Experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL databases, with exposure to PL/SQL.
  • Knowledge of event-driven architecture such as Kafka and cloud technology, preferably Azure.
  • Familiarity with versioning and build tools such as Git, GitLab and Jenkins.
  • Familiarity with Ansible playbooks, Linux operating systems and shell scripts.
  • Capability to convey technical ideas and concepts to all audiences, with the confidence to challenge effectively.
  • English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
