Java Software Engineer

Krakow, MA, Poland

EPAM is seeking an experienced Java Software Engineer to join an engineering team working on mission-critical systems in the data center infrastructure planning domain. The project focuses on building and enhancing software solutions that support development planning processes, including supply chain timeline management and supplier relationship coordination. This is an opportunity to contribute to a high-impact platform while collaborating directly with engineers, architects, and product managers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new features and refine the existing codebase to improve performance, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Communicate directly with the client daily and participate in discussions with stakeholders and product teams.
  • Collaborate with engineers and architects to build a scalable, high-performance platform used by external customers for next-generation applications and solutions.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle: analysis, design, implementation, testing, and support.
  • Operate as a proactive, self-governing team member in an engineering environment that values transparency, trust, individual mastery, and autonomy.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in Java development.
  • 3+ years of experience developing and integrating software through the full system implementation lifecycle: analysis, design, implementation, build, test, and support.
  • Solid working knowledge of SQL and JUnit.
  • Strong self-management, prioritization, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work on time as a self-starter in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with proven client-facing experience.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Knowledge of JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
  • Familiarity with Protocol Buffers.
