Java Software Engineer

EPAM is seeking an experienced Java Software Engineer to join a dynamic engineering team working on mission-critical systems within the data center infrastructure planning domain. The project focuses on building and enhancing software solutions that support development planning processes, including supply chain timeline management and supplier relationship coordination.

This is an opportunity to contribute to a high-impact platform while collaborating directly with client engineers, architects, and product managers.

Responsibilities

• Develop new features and refine the existing codebase to improve performance, reliability, and efficiency
• Communicate directly with the client daily, participating in discussions with stakeholders and product teams
• Collaborate with engineers and architects to build a scalable, high-performance platform leveraged by external customers for next-generation applications and solutions
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle—from analysis and design through implementation, testing, and support
• Operate as a proactive, self-governing team member in a modern engineering environment that values transparency, trust, individual mastery, and autonomy

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on Java development experience
• 3+ years of experience developing and integrating software through the full system implementation lifecycle: analysis, design, implementation, build, test, and support
• Solid working knowledge of SQL and JUnit
• Strong self-management, prioritization, and time-management skills
• Ability to deliver high-quality work on time as a self-starter in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with proven client-facing experience

Nice to have

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Knowledge of JavaScript and/or TypeScript
• Familiarity with Protocol Buffers
