Virtualization Architect

Your role

We are looking for an experienced professional to lead and deliver server virtualization projects. This role focuses primarily on the design, implementation, optimization, and troubleshooting of VMware-based infrastructures.

Common projects include server migration from DC to DC, as well as migration from DC to the cloud. Knowledge of cloud solutions and migration tools is a plus. Some tasks involve creating recommendations for clients regarding migration to other virtualization solutions, such as Nutanix, OpenShift, and others.

Your tasks

• Lead architecture design and end-to-end delivery of VMware-based solutions
• Define technical standards, documentation, and best practices for virtualization platforms
• Design and optimize VMware vSphere environments (ESXi, vCenter, clusters, HA, DRS)
• Design software-defined storage solutions using VMware vSAN
• Architect DC-to-DC migrations (e.g. HCX, SRM), including migration strategy and waves
• Design DC-to-cloud solutions leveraging AWS/Azure and migration tooling
• Provide strategic recommendations on platform evolution (e.g. Nutanix, OpenShift, hybrid models)
• Support and mentor engineering teams, providing technical leadership and guidance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (network, storage, cloud, security)
• Drive automation and use AI-enabled tools to improve delivery efficiency and decision-making

Your profile

• 8+ years of experience with VMware virtualization in enterprise environments
• Strong expertise in VMware vSphere architecture and platform design
• Proven experience leading complex infrastructure or migration projects
• Hands-on knowledge of VMware vSAN and software-defined infrastructure
• Experience with migration tools (HCX, SRM) and migration strategy design
• Familiarity with VMware NSX and network virtualization concepts
• Knowledge of alternative platforms (e.g. Nutanix, OpenShift, Hyper-V)
• Experience with automation tools (PowerShell, Ansible)
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to leverage AI tools in architecture and delivery work
