Senior Wintel Engineer

Your role

You design, operate, and maintain enterprise-class virtualization platforms based on VMware and Nutanix technologies that support critical business services. You ensure high availability, performance, security, and resilience of Wintel and Windows-based virtual environments used by large-scale infrastructures.

You act as a senior technical authority for virtualization services, supporting operations teams, resolving complex incidents, and advising internal stakeholders on platform improvements, stability, and disaster recovery readiness. You actively leverage automation and AI-enabled platforms to optimize daily operational activities, reduce manual effort, and improve service efficiency. You take ownership of virtualization reliability and contribute to continuous improvement of infrastructure services.

Your tasks

• Design, operate, and optimize VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, clusters, HA, DRS, and resource management.
• Administer and support Nutanix platforms, including AOS, Prism, cluster operations, VM lifecycle management, and performance monitoring.
• Maintain and troubleshoot Wintel and Windows Server environments running on virtual platforms, ensuring OS stability, patch compliance, and performance.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting across virtualization, OS, storage, and network layers, including root-cause analysis of complex incidents.
• Support and improve backup and disaster recovery solutions, including tools such as Veeam Backup and/or VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM).
• Design, implement, and utilize automation solutions, such as scripts, workflows, and runbooks, to streamline provisioning, maintenance, monitoring, and incident response activities.
• Use AI-based platforms or intelligent tooling to accelerate analysis, troubleshooting, reporting, and operational decision-making in daily activities.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, network, storage, security, and automation teams to increase platform stability and operational efficiency.
• Implement and enforce security best practices, access controls, and compliance standards within virtualization environments.
• Participate in platform upgrades, lifecycle management, capacity planning, and continuous service improvement initiatives.
• Provide expert-level support during major incidents and contribute to post-incident reviews, including automation and prevention opportunities.

Your profile

• Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience with enterprise virtualization platforms.
• Strong practical experience with VMware vSphere, including ESXi, vCenter Server, clusters, HA, and DRS.
• Proven experience with Nutanix environments, including AOS, Prism, cluster operations, and VM operations.
• Solid background in Wintel infrastructure and Microsoft Windows Server administration within virtualized environments.
• Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions, such as Veeam Backup, VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM), or equivalent tools.
• Hands-on experience with automation technologies and scripting, such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, and workflow tools, to improve operational efficiency.
• Ability to effectively use AI-driven platforms and tools for troubleshooting, incident analysis, automation, and reporting.
• Good understanding of networking and storage concepts related to virtualization, including vSwitches, VLANs, iSCSI, NFS, and Fibre Channel.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to resolve complex, cross-domain technical issues.
• Familiarity with ITIL-based operations and enterprise service delivery models.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
