Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Software-Focused)

We’re looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer who brings strong software engineering skills and a deep understanding of production systems. This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys building systems that make infrastructure more scalable, reliable, and easy to operate – using code, not runbooks.

You’ll work with a highly collaborative team to design and build internal platforms that power product features, AI systems, and offline analytics. Our tech stack includes AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), MySQL (RDS), OpenSearch, DynamoDB, Redis, Terraform, Datadog, TypeScript, Scala, Go, and Python.

This role is based in the Warsaw office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. Standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most employees can work from home on Wednesdays; Friday remote-work availability depends on the type of work. The role is offered on a Contract of Employment (UoP) in Poland.

What you’ll achieve

• Design and build frameworks, tools, and services that improve the reliability, observability, and scalability of infrastructure.
• Lead end-to-end projects, from scoping and design through rollout, across multiple systems and teams.
• Improve the operability of stateful infrastructure such as MySQL, OpenSearch, and DynamoDB; help drive the long-term vision for storage reliability.
• Debug production issues across the stack and participate in an on-call rotation, fixing root causes to prevent recurrence.
• Partner with product teams to shape a service-oriented architecture that enables fast, reliable development.
• Share knowledge through code reviews, design discussions, and mentorship.

About you

• Strong software engineering background with the ability to write production code and design systems; Go, Python, Scala, and TypeScript are used.
• 7+ years of experience building and operating backend systems at scale.
• Familiarity with distributed systems and storage technologies, including SQL, NoSQL, and search, particularly in cloud environments.
• Experience with AWS services such as RDS, EKS, and IAM; Terraform; and Datadog or similar monitoring tooling.
• Solid understanding of SRE principles, including SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, and incident response, with a software-first approach to reliability.
• Clear communication and strong collaboration skills for navigating trade-offs with stakeholders.
• Ability to build and ship production systems; scripting-only experience is not sufficient.
• Curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies, with willingness to use them to improve productivity, collaboration, or decision-making.
