We are seeking a Components Manufacturing Engineer responsible for establishing, developing, and scaling advanced manufacturing processes for critical hardware. You’ll take full ownership of component fabrication from concept through production, driving design-for-manufacture, process development, and continuous improvement across a wide range of precision mechanical systems.

This role requires a highly technical, hands-on engineer with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced environment. You’ll work closely with design, materials, and production teams to bridge the gap between prototype and production.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own end-to-end manufacturing processes for complex mechanical and precision components.
  • Drive design for manufacturability (DFM) with design and development engineers.
  • Define and optimize process parameters for laser welding, precision machining, assembly, and inspection.
  • Lead first-article builds and implement corrective actions for process non-conformances.
  • Own planning, operations, and scheduling for the sheet metal shop.
  • Design and procure tooling, fixtures, and test equipment.
  • Support technicians and specialists by troubleshooting production issues.
  • Establish and maintain manufacturing documentation and control plans.
  • Collaborate with quality, supply chain, and test teams.
  • Develop data-driven approaches for process control and yield improvement.
  • Mentor technicians and shape manufacturing capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in precision component manufacturing.
  • Experience with CNC machining, welding (TIG/laser/e-beam), or additive manufacturing.
  • Ability to develop and scale manufacturing processes from concept through production.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, and material behavior.
  • Hands-on experience in lab or production environments.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience with advanced welding methods including laser, e-beam, resistance, or friction stir welding.
  • Knowledge of aerospace-grade materials such as aluminum, titanium, Inconel, and stainless steel.
