Position Summary
The Senior Buyer plays a critical leadership role in the strategic sourcing and purchasing of production parts across all locations. This position focuses on supplier relationship management, procurement strategy development, supply chain optimization, inventory ownership, and leadership of a team of Buyers.
The role requires periodic travel to support operations, align procurement strategies, strengthen supplier partnerships, and ensure purchasing standards are executed consistently across locations.

Responsibilities
Strategic Procurement & Supplier Management
- Lead strategic sourcing and procurement of materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and service agreements.
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships to improve cost, quality, delivery, and performance.
- Resolve supplier issues including quality concerns, returns, engineering changes, and delivery challenges.
- Monitor supplier performance through KPIs and implement corrective actions.
Team Leadership & Operations
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Buyers.
- Facilitate team meetings to align purchasing priorities and operational objectives.
- Collaborate with Production, Warehouse, Service, and Operations teams to ensure timely execution.
Inventory & Data Management
- Own inventory strategy across multiple locations.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
- Oversee inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and analysis.
- Maintain accurate master data, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and procurement records.
Forecasting & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with internal teams and suppliers to forecast demand and align purchasing with production schedules.
- Drive process improvements to enhance procurement efficiency and cost savings.
- Travel to company locations to support audits, supplier reviews, and operational alignment.
Requirements
Must Have
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of procurement, purchasing, or strategic sourcing experience with leadership responsibilities.
- Experience leading purchasing or supply chain teams.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management principles, demand forecasting, replenishment strategies, and inventory optimization.
- Experience negotiating supplier agreements and managing supplier relationships.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Willingness to travel periodically.
