Position Summary

The Senior Buyer plays a critical leadership role in the strategic sourcing and purchasing of production parts across all locations. This position focuses on supplier relationship management, procurement strategy development, supply chain optimization, inventory ownership, and leadership of a team of Buyers.

The role requires periodic travel to support operations, align procurement strategies, strengthen supplier partnerships, and ensure purchasing standards are executed consistently across locations.

Compensation

Responsibilities

Strategic Procurement & Supplier Management

  • Lead strategic sourcing and procurement of materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and service agreements.
  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships to improve cost, quality, delivery, and performance.
  • Resolve supplier issues including quality concerns, returns, engineering changes, and delivery challenges.
  • Monitor supplier performance through KPIs and implement corrective actions.

Team Leadership & Operations

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Buyers.
  • Facilitate team meetings to align purchasing priorities and operational objectives.
  • Collaborate with Production, Warehouse, Service, and Operations teams to ensure timely execution.

Inventory & Data Management

  • Own inventory strategy across multiple locations.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Oversee inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and analysis.
  • Maintain accurate master data, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and procurement records.

Forecasting & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with internal teams and suppliers to forecast demand and align purchasing with production schedules.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance procurement efficiency and cost savings.
  • Travel to company locations to support audits, supplier reviews, and operational alignment.

Requirements

Must Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of procurement, purchasing, or strategic sourcing experience with leadership responsibilities.
  • Experience leading purchasing or supply chain teams.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management principles, demand forecasting, replenishment strategies, and inventory optimization.
  • Experience negotiating supplier agreements and managing supplier relationships.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Willingness to travel periodically.

What You'll Do Specialized Talent Sourcing • Proactively source and engage passive talent across motorsports, performance automotive, aftermarket automotive, and high-performance engineering markets • Build pipelines of specialized talent, including engineers, technicians, program managers, business professionals, and leadership candidates • Use LinkedIn Recruiter, hireEZ, ATS/CRM platforms, referrals, market mapping, and industry networks to identify top talent Candidate Assessment & Talent Advocacy • Screen resumes, LinkedIn profiles, and online portfolios to determine fit • Quickly assess whether a candidate should be advanced, nurtured, or passed on • Confidently advocate for top talent and provide clear recommendations to recruiters and stakeholders Search Strategy & Market Intelligence • Participate in intake meetings, calibration sessions, and search strategy discussions • Bring creative sourcing ideas, market insights, and talent availability data to recruiting partners and business leaders • Conduct market mapping, competitor research, and talent intelligence across niche automotive and technical markets Recruiter & Stakeholder Partnership • Partner closely with recruiters and hiring teams to understand role requirements and priority profiles • Support sourcing strategy, candidate calibration, and pipeline development • Provide consultative feedback on talent market realities, candidate quality, and search direction ATS, CRM & Candidate Experience • Maintain accurate candidate information in ATS and CRM systems • Track pipeline activity, candidate status, and sourcing progress • Deliver an exceptional candidate experience and support employer branding efforts What We Need to See • Bachelor's degree required • 5+ years of sourcing or recruiting experience • Experience supporting motorsports, performance automotive, aftermarket automotive, or high-performance engineering teams strongly preferred • Proven success sourcing technical, engineering, manufacturing, or specialized automotive talent • Strong candidate assessment and talent advocacy skills • Experience using ATS, CRM platforms, LinkedIn Recruiter, and sourcing tools such as hireEZ • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment Bonus Points • Experience sourcing for racing teams, performance vehicle manufacturers, motorsports suppliers, or aftermarket performance brands • Understanding of vehicle performance systems, racing operations, and automotive engineering disciplines • Existing network within the motorsports or performance automotive community • Ability to bring fresh sourcing ideas to difficult or niche searches • Comfort knowing when to pursue talent — and when not to Logistics • Location: Remote, US • Engagement: Salaried full-time position • Compensation: $80,000 – $95,000 per year, based on experience, education, and work location Benefits • Medical, dental, and vision insurance • 401(k) with employer match • Paid time off • Sick leave • Holiday pay • Employee assistance program Equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
