What you'll do

As a Buyer, you will support procurement and sourcing efforts for switchboards assembled in the USA. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, this role will help coordinate RFQs, place purchase orders, and support vendor relationships to ensure on-time delivery of materials for production.

You will assist with creating purchase orders, coordinating deliveries, and tracking procurement schedules. This role is highly execution-focused and ideal for someone who is organized, proactive, and excited to grow within a fast-paced infrastructure environment.

You'll work cross-functionally with Engineering, Logistics, Quality and Operations teams to help ensure materials are suitable for production and delivered on time.

Where you'll work

This role will begin based in Long Beach at the UL891 switchboard factory. You must be willing to work on site full-time. Employees will be able to work remotely every other Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Generate requests for quotations (RFQs) for all production materials
  • Create and track purchase orders for all production orders
  • Follow up and confirm delivery with vendors to ensure OTD
  • Source suppliers and vendors under direction of the Procurement Manager to support supplier base development
  • Constantly follow up with vendors on pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules
  • Help resolve supply chain or vendor issues to keep projects moving
  • Partner closely with Engineering and Operations teams to understand project requirements

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, supply chain, or manufacturing operations
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with internal teams and external vendors

Bonus points

  • Background in electrical component manufacturing, electrical infrastructure, or related industries
  • Familiarity with materials associated with the production of UL891 switchboards including fabricated components, switches, breakers, etc.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems including Oracle, SAP, Dynamics365, NetSuite, etc.
  • Experience in a UL code environment or similar (UL, ASME, API, etc.). UL891 experience strongly preferred.
