Woodard & Curran is offering an opportunity to provide high-quality wastewater engineering services to municipal clients throughout the South region and across the nation.

The successful candidate will manage project teams through planning, preliminary design, final design, construction, start-up, and operations of wastewater facilities and infrastructure. The role includes mentoring staff, supporting clients, and collaborating with electrical, structural, CAD, operations, and SCADA teams.

Who are we looking for

You will primarily provide project management and engineering support on municipal wastewater projects, however experience with drinking water, stormwater, and industrial water applications is valuable. This position offers the opportunity to direct and collaborate with a team of junior and mid-level staff while working with senior-level technical staff and leadership across the organization.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in evaluating, planning, designing, and constructing wastewater infrastructure and systems, along with experience engaging with client stakeholders such as operators, superintendents, and public officials.

Familiarity with master planning, treatment, distribution, and collection systems is preferred. You will lead the delivery of multiple projects, support marketing and proposal efforts, and work within local and federal regulations.

This role is hybrid. Candidates are expected to be in the office at least one day per week, with additional on-site presence as needed.

Travel: 20%

Projects may include

  • Municipal wastewater systems, including collection system infrastructure, pumping system hydraulics, and wastewater treatment processes
  • Collection system assessments, design, and rehabilitation
  • Biosolids and renewable energy development
  • Industrial wastewater treatment systems

What you will be doing

  • Managing and executing wastewater system design, planning, and construction projects
  • Leading and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and subconsultants
  • Determining project delivery approaches and supporting technical development
  • Scheduling and tracking budgets, milestones, and deliverables
  • Utilizing the company Project Management Framework
  • Maintaining proactive communication with project and technical teams
  • Coordinating with suppliers, subcontractors, contractors, and clients
  • Visiting client sites for meetings, proposal development, and construction observation
  • Coordinating field activities to ensure compliance with contract documents
  • Interfacing with regulatory agencies and permitting officials
  • Conducting QA/QC reviews on project deliverables
  • Supporting staffing coordination and design guideline development
  • Preparing and delivering presentations and training programs
  • Supporting business development efforts

What you will need to succeed

  • 10-15 years of consulting engineering experience
  • B.S. Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • M.S. Degree preferred
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Florida or ability to apply for reciprocity
  • Expertise in project management and delivery within civil and environmental engineering
  • Understanding of municipal water systems engineering concepts
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations
  • Knowledge of state bidding laws and funding programs
  • Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills
  • Experience conducting presentations to stakeholders
  • Experience with proposal writing and development of project scope, budgets, and schedules
