An Environmental Scientist or Geologist is typically assigned specific tasks on project teams and is expected to use their knowledge to resolve assigned problems under the mentorship of senior staff. Fieldwork, data management, report writing, and interaction with project staff play an important role in the candidate’s success. Who are we looking for: We are looking for a motivated Environmental Geologist or Scientist to join our team in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area. You will be involved with project work from your first day, working side-by-side with experienced engineers, technical specialists, and scientists to help clients address water and environmental challenges. Travel: Approximately 50% travel is anticipated. What you will be doing: - Collecting soil, groundwater, and other environmental media samples to support site investigation and remediation objectives. - Installing monitoring wells, performing remediation monitoring, and overseeing contractors. - Assisting field investigations and providing construction oversight by following safety policies, understanding specifications, and documenting contractor activities and safety procedures. - Assisting in preparing regulatory submittals, technical memoranda, and reports. - Managing, analyzing, evaluating, and interpreting data for use in reports and visualizations, including maps, charts, and 3D models. - Supporting various science and engineering projects with strong technical fieldwork and writing skills. What you will need to succeed: - Bachelor’s degree in geology, environmental science, or related field from an accredited program (M.S. preferred). - Entry level to five years of relevant professional experience. - Experience working around construction equipment and/or in a construction environment is a plus. - Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, ArcGIS, CAD, or database software, preferred. - Excellent organizational, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills. - Experience in developing and implementing project work plans, schedules, and budgets is a plus. - 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training is a plus.
