We're seeking a talented and experienced Designer to join a high-performing luxury residential design/build team. This role is ideal for a professional with 3–5+ years of experience in an interior design, architecture, or design/build environment who thrives in a collaborative and client-focused setting.

As a Designer, you will play a key role on each project team, partnering with Project Leaders, Production Managers, and fellow designers or architects to bring high-end residential transformations to life. You will guide projects from concept to production-ready plans while ensuring every detail aligns with the established design/build process.

Your duties include schematic design, design development, client meetings and presentations, 3D modeling, material selection, creation of detailed architectural drawings, and navigation of permit submissions across various jurisdictions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Excel at residential design and remodeling design
  • Meet with Project Leaders and clients weekly throughout the design process
  • Create as-built drawings, schematic designs, design development drawings, permit drawings, and construction documents
  • Utilize AutoCAD for drafting floorplans, elevations, and detailed plan sets
  • Use SketchUp for 3D modeling
  • Create hand drawings as necessary
  • Use Canva, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator for presentation boards
  • Apply understanding of local zoning laws, environmental factors, and structural issues relevant to projects
  • Navigate permitting processes within the DC Metro area
  • Manage the design process for multiple projects simultaneously
  • Manage selections within project allowances and scope of work
  • Research and stay current with the latest design trends, materials, finishes, fixtures, and appliances
  • Work directly with clients through showroom visits, samples, and resource coordination
