Summary/Primary Role

The role operates at the intersection of engineering, IoT, and applied machine intelligence.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Geothermal HVAC System Expertise & Platform Intelligence
- Serve as the internal authority on geothermal system behavior, degradation, and optimization, translating knowledge into product requirements.
- Define automated detection logic for anomalies such as borefield degradation, heat pump faults, performance drift, and thermal imbalances.
- Design metrics, KPIs, and alert frameworks enabling automated issue identification.
- Continuously refine platform intelligence based on field data and customer feedback.
Roadmap Evolution & Product Strategy
- Shape and evolve the EDGE product roadmap with leadership.
- Identify expansion opportunities across system types, customer segments, and performance models.
- Synthesize engineering, field, and market inputs into clear product direction.
Feature Specification & Engineering Execution
- Author developer-ready feature specifications including user stories, acceptance criteria, and data contracts.
- Translate thermodynamic and control system knowledge into precise engineering requirements.
- Lead sprint cycles, backlog grooming, prioritization, and delivery accountability.
IoT & Data Quality
- Own data quality standards across cloud SaaS and edge deployments.
- Resolve timeseries data challenges such as sensor dropout, calibration drift, and latency.
- Define data pipeline requirements, validation logic, and monitoring dashboards.
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Controls Systems, or related discipline.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in product or systems engineering roles.
- Expertise in HVAC, geothermal, hydronic, heat pump, or building control systems.
- Strong understanding of thermodynamic equations and performance metrics (COP, EER, heat transfer rates).
- Experience with IoT, sensor data, and BAS/BMS platforms.
- Strong knowledge of timeseries data and anomaly detection.
- Experience writing precise feature specifications and leading agile teams.
