Role Purpose:

As Service Owner for PostgreSQL, you will play a key role in managing and developing a business-critical platform service. You will work closely with external service providers and internal expert teams to ensure high availability, stability and quality, while continuously improving the service.

In this role, you will actively shape processes, identify opportunities for optimization and drive improvements independently. You can expect a collaborative and professional environment with open communication, flat hierarchies and the opportunity to contribute your ideas and help shape the future of our service landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for the entire lifecycle of the PostgreSQL service and alignment of strategic goals with the overall IT and business strategy  
  • Coordination and prioritization of requirements from business teams in close collaboration with relevant stakeholders  
  • Monitoring service quality, ensuring SLA compliance and driving continuous improvements  
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant security and regulatory requirements in collaboration with the Security Team  
  • Operational and tactical management of the external provider, including participation in contract management and KPI definition  
  • Acting as the central point of contact for business teams and stakeholders and representing the service in projects and committees  
  • Ensuring complete service documentation and compliance with technical and organizational standards

Your Skills:

  • Degree in Computer Science or a comparable qualification, combined with several years of experience in an IT environment
  • Experience in security and compliance, particularly in relation to personal data and regulatory requirements
  • Proven track record of working with external service providers and sourcing partners
  • Ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly and effectively to different audiences
  • Strong conceptual thinking and a process-oriented mindset for the sustainable development of IT services
  • Solid understanding of modern platform technologies such as Kubernetes or OpenShift is an advantage
  • Fluent written and spoken English
