AI Product Owner – Underwriting

Senior • Remote

30,000 - 32,500 PLN

Warsaw, Poland

About our Team:

"Group AI Services" is a central team driving the adoption of Data & AI across Helvetia Baloise. We help teams turn ideas around AI, GenAI and Agentic AI into scalable, well-governed solutions that create real business value.

We collaborate closely with Market Units and Group Functions - from supporting end-to-end delivery of key initiatives, to co-creating solutions, enabling teams with reusable tools, patterns and guidance.

Our focus is not just on building AI, but on making it work in practice - embedded in real business processes, IT systems and everyday operations.

In this role, you will help shape and drive AI use cases in domains like Underwriting, turning ideas into clear requirements and solutions that truly impact how the business operates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shape AI use cases from idea into clear scope, requirements and priorities
  • Translate business needs into structured user stories and backlog items
  • Collaborate with business, technology and governance teams to deliver solutions end-to-end
  • Ensure AI solutions are practical, scalable and embedded in underwriting processes
  • Identify opportunities where AI can improve workflows and create measurable value
  • Support testing, user feedback and continuous improvement
  • Contribute to best practices and reusable approaches to strengthen AI delivery across the Group

Your Skills:

  • Several years of experience delivering AI, GenAI, automation or data-driven solutions in business environments
  • Strong understanding of how AI can be applied in practice, including value, feasibility and risks
  • Ability to analyze business processes, user workflows and operational needs
  • Proven experience in translating complex business needs into clear use cases, requirements and priorities
  • Solid product ownership skills (prioritization, backlog management, stakeholder alignment, delivery follow-up)
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams across business, IT and governance areas
  • Good understanding of enterprise systems, data flows, integrations and constraints
  • Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to engage both business and technical stakeholders

Ideally, you also have:

  • Experience with AI, GenAI or automation in insurance, financial services or another regulated environment
  • Understanding of the insurance value chain, especially underwriting, risk or operations
  • Familiarity with common AI solution patterns (e.g. RAG, LLM-based assistants, document processing, workflow automation or agentic flows)
  • Awareness of responsible AI, governance and regulatory considerations
  • Experience working in international or matrix organizations

You will thrive here if you:

  • Think in a structured and analytical way – you can break down complex processes, handle ambiguity and focus on the real problem
  • Bring a strong product mindset – you focus on value, prioritization, usability and real adoption
  • Communicate clearly and confidently – you ask the right questions, challenge assumptions and turn complexity into clear decisions
  • Collaborate effectively – you work well across business, tech and governance teams, even without formal authority
  • Stay pragmatic and outcome-focused – you balance ambition with feasibility and focus on getting things done
  • Are assertive yet constructive – you build trust while driving clarity, decisions and progress
