Description

Provide comprehensive cardiac care in inpatient and outpatient settings with scheduled, no-call coverage. Perform and interpret diagnostic tests (EKGs, echocardiograms, stress tests) and develop treatment plans for cardiovascular conditions. Maintain accurate medical records, educate patients on heart disease prevention, and coordinate care with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive cardiac care to patients
• Perform diagnostic procedures: EKGs, echocardiograms, stress tests
• Interpret diagnostic tests and develop treatment plans
• Perform cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures when applicable to subspecialty
• Educate and counsel patients on heart disease prevention and healthy lifestyle choices
• Collaborate with nurses, surgeons, and other specialists for coordinated patient care
• Maintain accurate and complete medical records for all patients
• Stay current on advancements in cardiology through continuing education

Requirements

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Internal medicine residency training accredited by ACGME or AOA
• Board certification in cardiology by ABIM or AOA
• Active and unrestricted medical license in North Carolina
• Cardiology fellowship training preferred
• At least 1 year of clinical cardiology experience preferred
