Description

Provide comprehensive cardiac care for patients in inpatient and outpatient settings. Perform and interpret diagnostic procedures (EKGs, echocardiograms, stress tests), develop treatment plans for cardiovascular conditions, and perform catheterization/interventional procedures if within your subspecialty. Coordinate with the care team, counsel patients on heart disease prevention, and maintain accurate medical records.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive cardiac care across inpatient and outpatient settings
• Perform diagnostic procedures: EKGs, echocardiograms, stress tests
• Interpret diagnostic tests and develop treatment plans
• Perform cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures (as applicable)
• Educate and counsel patients on prevention, risk factors, and healthy lifestyle choices
• Collaborate with nurses, surgeons, and specialists to coordinate care
• Maintain accurate and complete medical records
• Stay current with advancements in cardiology through continuing education

Requirements

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Internal medicine residency accredited by ACGME or AOA
• Board certification in cardiology (ABIM or AOA)
• Active and unrestricted North Carolina medical license
• Fellowship training in cardiology (may be preferred)
• Prefer at least 1 year of clinical experience providing cardiac care
