Description

Locum Surgery Trauma Physician needed for a 13-week assignment at an acute care hospital. The role covers scheduled shifts plus on-call coverage and includes performing a range of emergency and general surgical procedures. You will provide perioperative care, consult with patients and clinicians, support patient education, and maintain accurate medical records.

Responsibilities

• Perform surgeries including appendectomies, hernia repairs, gallbladder removals, emergency surgeries, and upper/lower endoscopies (among others)

• Provide preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans

• Provide on-call coverage for emergency surgeries (e.g., trauma cases and unexpected complications)

• Provide consultations to patients and other medical professionals regarding surgical options and care plans

• Educate patients on post-operative care and follow-up requirements

• Maintain accurate and thorough medical records

Requirements

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school

• Surgery residency training accredited by ACGME or AOA

• Board certification in surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS)

• Active and unrestricted Washington medical license

• Current ACLS certification

• Preferably at least one year of clinical experience (requirements may vary)
