Description

You will oversee end-to-end development of embedded real-time software integrated into avionics-related embedded devices and systems, ensuring compliance with industry, customer, safety, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities include translating customer requirements into embedded software design, leading code reviews and hardware/software integration, and improving embedded software efficiency, stability, and test performance through automated testing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the design, development, test, debugging, and maintenance of embedded software integrated into embedded devices and systems
• Oversee review, analysis, and translation of customer requirements into embedded software product design
• Oversee code review for embedded systems software running on specialized hardware
• Oversee integration of embedded software with hardware components
• Review analyses, monitoring, and improvements of embedded software efficiency and stability
• Review testing and debugging activities for embedded devices and systems
• Oversee research and implementation of emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and changes in relevant regulations
• Provide consultation on software and hardware integration domains
• Oversee tracking and evaluation of internal and supplier software team performance for compliance to plans and industry standards
• Oversee embedded software project management functions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Ability to obtain an active U.S. Security Clearance that requires U.S. Citizenship (Secret required post-start)
• 10+ years leading software development
• 10+ years leading or supporting trade studies, business case development, work transfers, and/or statement of work management
• 10+ years developing and implementing automated test strategies
• 5+ years in leadership roles driving developer productivity or DevSecOps adoption

Preferred Qualifications

• B.S. in computer engineering (or similar engineering discipline)
• Experience leading, communicating, and collaborating across multiple organizations
• Experience with software architecture and design methodologies; ability to synthesize architectures that meet requirements and constraints
• Strong analytical skills; ability to isolate issues using logs and test results
• Experience debugging, integrating, and testing in emulated and hardware-in-the-loop environments
• Experience identifying vulnerabilities and implementing mitigation measures; understanding of secure boot, encryption, and key management
• Experience with real-time software/testing tools (cross compilers, target debuggers, performance instrumentation)
